A door that catches is rarely warped. Far more often the hinge screws have pulled loose in the frame, dropping the door a fraction of an inch so it binds at the top corner, or the strike plate has shifted and the latch no longer meets it. They look identical from across the room and take different fixes, which is most of the reason these jobs sit on the list for months.
A mirror, a floating shelf with books on it, or a wall cabinet all need to find framing or use an anchor rated for the wall they are going into. The plastic plug in the packet is rated for a picture frame. Weight, wall construction and how far the item stands out from the wall together decide the fixing, and the third one is the one people forget.
Kitchen cabinet hinges adjust in three directions, and a door that looks dropped is usually one screw turn away from square. Where the hinge itself has torn out of particle board, the repair is to the carcass rather than to the hinge, because a new hinge in the same failed hole fails again within weeks.
Baseboard pulls away from the wall as a house settles and as humidity swings through the year, which around Charlotte it does. Refixing and filling is straightforward work. What decides whether it stays put is fixing into something solid rather than back into the hole that just let go.
